The 4ft6 double frame is designed for a standard UK double mattress measuring 135 × 190cm. All our frames are compatible with standard UK mattress sizes for their respective size categories.
Assembly takes approximately 30 minutes with two people (we recommend two for lifting the headboard into position). A spanner is all you'll need — every fixing and piece of hardware is included in the box along with a clear illustrated instruction guide.
No box spring or divan base is required. Our frames include a sprung slat system that provides all the support your mattress needs. Simply place any standard mattress directly onto the slats and you're ready to go.
There is 35cm of clearance from the floor to the base of the frame — enough for suitcases, flat storage boxes, and bedding sets. This is significantly more clearance than most budget frames offer.
Our frames are rated to a maximum combined weight of 300kg (occupants plus mattress). The additional central support legs distribute this load evenly across the frame to prevent any sagging or flexing.
